Iron hull. Lap jointed & riveted mild steel plate on 50mm x 50mm mild steel angle frames built to a recognised Dutch Tjalk design.

Engine:

Main engine is an ex-military truck engine, fully marinised turbo charged six cylinder DAF, 575T.D. Centrale WKPL diesel engine with raw water heat exchanger, type YP408, motor no. A 36138, manufactured in 1982. The engine has a road vehicle gearbox which is permanently engaged in gear, it also has the original clutch mechanism which is connected to an air operated actuator which when operated disengages the Schottel drive, this is the basic neutral position. The gearbox actuator is operated by an electric solenoid switch at the helm position and the engine throttle is Teleflex type cable operated by single lever at the helm. Reverse gear is only possible by turning the Schottel drive 180 degrees.
