Lemsteraak 9 Meter is designed by J.K. (Jaap) Gipon, 1910 - 1999. The Lemsteraak 9 Meter is designed and built for pleasure cruising. The design dates from the seventies of the last century. The ship was built by shipyard Van der Meer from Kudelstaart and was launched in 1991. The deck and cockpit of the ship are fitted with solid teak parts. There is no steel underneath so no rust can occur. The cabin has been taken out of service in 2020 and repainted (5 layers). The cockpit bulkhead is provided with beautiful carvings made by the artist Nagtegaal. The Lemsteraak 9 Meter can deliver good sailing performance especially with her new sailing equipment. The mast, rudder and swords will be completely bare in 2015 and provided with a new lacquer system.
The interior of the Lemsteraak 9 Meter is in 2013 in the old Dutch way new carpentry by shipyard Peter Schouten. A lot of attention was paid to the use of all storage spaces and the integration of equipment such as refrigerator, oven and, for example, the dustbin. All equipment is also from 2013. The cushions are new and made to measure in matching fabric. The interior has been painted white, making it yellow light and fresh. The kitchen has a stone worktop and is equipped with a beautiful bronze hand pump faucet. The toilet is equipped with a Lavac vacuum toilet the least malfunctioning system on the market.
The first engine was lighter and has been replaced by a somewhat heavier engine by the current owner. With this engine, the ship comes with 3/4 throttle beautifully at hull speed. The engine is always well maintained. In 2020 the engine has had an extensive maintenance. Also the shift and throttle cables have been replaced. The starter battery and service battery are renewed in 2020. The VHF is from 2013. There is a separate GPS and windmeter on board. The battery charger is a Victron 12V/25A also from 2013.
Mainsail, jib and jib are as good as new only used for two seasons (2016). The jib and jib are on a furling system (Harken). This makes the ship very easy to handle. The mainsail is equipped with two reefs and can be well trimmed with an authentic hawser. The Lemsteraak 9 Meter sails smooth and fast and besides these sails there is a little used Halfwinder/Bolle Jan (1993). There are also several loose sails that are used as extra sails for races.
The Lemsteraak 9 Meter comes with a summer and winter tent. The sail covers are in new condition (2017). The summer tent (2010) is recently washed and repaired and in reasonable condition. There is a separate table on board suitable for indoors and outdoors. There are two seat cushions for outside. In short, both the interior and exterior of the Lemsteraak 9 Meter is in excellent condition. The ship is ready to sail away with it.
