My friend and I started building this barge about eight years ago, with every expectation of completing the build, however life (slipped disc, babies) got in the way. So we have both agreed that it’s time to sell it on, rather than it stay in the barn, this beauty needs to get out on the canal!
So here is a list of what’s included -
She was designed by Branson’s boats and is an Emily.
Built by myself and business partner.
We had a boat inspector involved, who was so impressed he asked us if we wanted to build boats for him. It was a project that started, around 2010.
The boat is built for inland waterways, but could be modified for coastal.
49” long and 10.5” wide Dutch barge
Fully spray painted with acrylothane two pack royal blue and cream.
Fully blacked below lowest rubbing strip
Welded anodes for line of sight protection in fresh water
Rudder and hydraulic steering system with large wheel in wheelhouse
Collapsible wheelhouse made of African hardwood
Front locker/Vauxhall is fully painted with shelving
Anchor winch
12v Vetus Bow thruster with weedhatch in Vauxhall
Barge is fully insulated with spray foam 2” thick
Bilge area is blacked and contains diesel and water tanks
Floor is ply which is also blacked for longevity
The main cabin is currently open plan
Engine room has black water tank
Skin tank cooling
Vetus 70hp Hyundai engine
Hospital exhaust
Stainless prop shaft, glands and propellor
Space saving macerator toilet
Webasto diesel boiler
Generator (2nd hand)

The barge is built but the internal fit out is not, perfect if you want to design your own space!

This barge is stored just outside of Bath and can be viewed by prior arrangement.
