Uxbridge London UK
Dutch Tjalk, ex-sailing barge. Beautifully renovated, keeping original features and character. Full hull survey available from June 2018, when hull was most recently blacked and new anodes attached. BMC 2.5 engine, in good running order, regularly serviced and maintained.
This vessel, currently moored on a leisure mooring in Uxbridge, is also fully kitted out to suit continuous cruising (living off-grid) with three 140W solar panels, a 30amp controller with display (allows you to monitor battery charge levels and solar input from the saloon), a large bank of Trojan T-105 batteries for 12v power as well as an inboard, water-cooled Whispa 4000w generator that provides 240 v power to the entire boat. (12v, USB, and 240 v sockets installed throughout the vessel as well as a 1500w inverter in the main saloon.)
She has two on-board heating systems for the winter- a lovely Hobbit stove, which kicks out 4kW, as well as a recently serviced Webasto diesel air heater which delivers heat through insulated ducts that run the length of the boat. She has a huge 1040 litre tank (which generally lasts for well over a month!) and the gas locker has space for two gas canisters, with bubble leak tester installed.
At 14.75 length and 3 m width, she is a perfect size for cruising the waterways around London. Interior space consists of a kitchen/living room, toilet/wet-room, double bedroom, bunk room, and utility space. The kitchen has ample storage space with a 12v Waeco fridge, three-burner hob, and convection oven, and Cointra gas boiler for instant hot water. The living room features a skylight hatch (fully removable) and an L-shaped sofa facing the multi-fuel stove. The toilet is a Jabsco electric pump-out toilet system. The space also functions as a wet-room. The shower has decent water pressure and gets very hot even in the depths of winter. The hallway features ample storage closets running the length of the boat. The first bedroom has a double bed with memory foam topper and full length closet. The second bedroom space has 4 single bunks (which also function as storage space). A utility space houses the generator and twin tub washing machine and has plenty of extra storage space and a hatch that leads up to front main deck. As the living room sofa can also be converted into a double bed, this means there are potentially 8 berths. (Great for having friends round.) The back deck and front deck are both spacious areas suited to socialising and sitting out enjoying the waterways. The roof-space is versatile space for storage and currently features a vegetable and herb garden.
She is a gem, a well-cared for and beautiful home on the waterways. Viewings highly recommended. Get in touch for more details, a copy of the full survey from 2018 or any other questions you may have.
