Classic Groninger Tjalk for sale due present owner retiring. Charlotte Anne is a tastefully converted, Dutch Canal Barge currently lying in Nancy, FRANCE. Interior consists of two large sleeping cabins, both with emperor sized double beds and ensuite facilities. The barge has been our own home for the past 2 years during which we have cruised the canals of North Eastern France. Technically, she is in excellent condition. Last out of water survey was in November 2007, with all documents verified. 150 HP DEUTZ main engine, 12 KVA diesel generator, battery chargers and 1000 Watt Inverter. New batteries May 2009. Lounge with under sidedeck storage and three trapdoors to underfloor storage. 200cm sofa converting to double bed. Sealed oak floor.
Kitchen with range of cupboards. Gas cooker, fridge and 1 ½ bowl stainless steel sink. Water pump and shower/sink pump out tank (automatic with float switch) in corner cupboard.
Bathroom with new vanity unit and washbasin, barge toilet and half bath with shower over. Large heated towel rail.
Wheelhouse with bench seat across after end. Extendable table with four chairs. A good second dining area. Small hatch for engine dipstick access. Six large trapdoors giving good access to all parts of the engine. Floor is oak treated with penetrating oil.
After bedroom with 200cm x 180cm, drawer under and surrounded by shelving. Under sidedeck storage. Small built in wardrobe. Freestanding cupboards with slide out drawers and baskets. Small en-suite toilet with washbasin and macerator toilet. Floor hatches for access to propeller shaft and stern gland.

Very good looking Dutch Tjalk built in 1913, retaining its traditional character and with ideal dimensions. This boat can cruise anywhere on the French canal system, is easy to drive, and has everything aboard to live in comfort and go cruising immediately.

sea otter aluminium dutch barge..cat.c... cross channel and coastal..as far as i am aware this is the only sea otter classified cat.c.. fully equipt full time liveaboard.cruiser..large wheelhouse..all windows d/glazed..woodenframes..we have lived on board full time for four and a half years with no problems ..no rusting..no painting..just oil the woodwork twice a year..the paint is as good as the day it left the builders in 2005..just the right size for canals and marinas..time to get a house and settle down.. if you are interested contact me for full spec. and inventory..if you want to know about aluminium for boats visit sea otters site....why aluminium...it explains the advantages..... |

Built of steel in Holland in 1911. 23.1m by 4.12m wide. Refit was completed in 1995 with 80cm insulation, six large double glazed windows in the saloon and galley. A Kabola diesel stove with central heating makes it a comfortable boat. Two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Flooring and paneling are in oak with many cupboards running both sides of the boat. Engine is a Lister of 40hp at 1000rpm. There is Kubota 7kva generator in a silence box and a Lister for battery charging. A Victron 3000wt inverter/70 amp charger. 24v system with 4 Victron 200amp/h AGM batteries.
