Built by the coal barge company in 1952. I have lived aboard this light and spacious boat for five years. It is a great space and very liveable. There is still lots to do to bring it to its full potential and I am now looking to buy a smaller boat. It was for sale at the beginning of the summer for £25k but I decided that I could not sell it with the state of the hull unknown. So after a full survey I have just had the whole hull over plated, hence the related price increase but you will now be buying a boat that should last you a lifetime if taken care of. Inside the boat there are two main rooms, the living area is approx 35 feet long under a seven year old apex steel cabin. It is panelled out in TGV and has six skylights. There is a double bed under the front deck as well as a double sofa bed next to a villager multi fuel burner opposite the double side door/window. It all leads into a large galley area. Most furniture is free standing and there is lots of storage area under the wide gunnels. The back room is approx 22ft long and is currently my workshop space and more like a glorified shed. The cabin is thick sheets of woodchip covered in fibreglass and ideally will need to be replaced over the next few years. There is a huge old roll top bath and a compost toilet using a bucket system. There is also an old raeburn that needs to be repaired, it can either stay on board or be taken off.
The engine is a BMC but I have never used it and I am unsure how much it would cost to fix. The engine room itself is very large and has lots of storage space around it. The front deck houses four very large water containers as well as more storage space. Both the front and back deck are very spacious.
I am now looking to paint the boat and complete other jobs throughout the autumn and I will continue working on it until it is sold. As more work is completed the price will increase accordingly.
