The barge, "Esperanza" is not a party barge, but a comfortable year round cruising barge for a couple. It has thermostatic controlled furnace heat, with radiators located throughout the barge, with 3x the recomended capacity. It has a length of 22m with a beam of 4.30m and a draft of 1.10m, and airdraft of 3.15m. The barge's Ford diesel and the Kabota 15kva generator are both keel cooled. It has an electric bow thruster and hydraulic steering. A capacity for 4000 lt of diesel forward and 1500 lt of fresh water aft. I has a washer and dryer, deepfreeze, hotwater heater for the shower and sink taps, fridge and electric stove. It has a hard bottomed Zodiac dingy and a 9hp Honda Engine. All this and much more. |

Built for delivering flour sugar etc in Holland.She has a horizontal steering wheel so she could pass under fixed bridges.
She has been my home since 1989. Travelled through all the canals with my partner .(sadly died in 2006)He renovated 'Lena' by raising all the roof so now full standing room throughout.
One large sleeping cabin. Large salon light and airy. Red diesel heater in saloon . Even at minis temps keeps boat warm . Sofa converts into very comfy double bed.Wood partition wall between sleeping cabin and salon so could make another cabin.Kitchen , Shower loo and washbasin. All mod cons ,washing machine. Static Inverter 24volt. Diesel heating.SSR registration.
400 litre red diesel tank. 250 litre diesel for engine. DAF engine. Two generators A Ferryman and a Honda. All tools for upkeep. Made or iron. Last out in 2006 . I repainted the hull etc last summer.
I must sell due to very bad health. Have lowered the price in the hope of a quick sale.
As I say I have lived on her constantly since 1989 and have been and am very happy but cannot cope with upkeep any more.
