REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE - NOW 80,000 GBP (ONO). Comes with April 2008 survey, which placed Hoop's current value 'as is', without taking a mooring into consideration, at 90,000 GBP - when totally complete this will be at least 110,000 GBP.
OP HOOP VAN ZEGEN. A beautiful liveaboard Dutch Ijsselaak. 50' x 11'9" with 60hp diesel Perkins engine. Purchased in the Netherlands, with a considerable amount of money spent renovating her (including raising the foredeck to create a sizeable bedroom) in order to pass UK safety standards (paperwork to support each item). She now has a BSC to Nov 2011, is licenced to Apr 2009 and comes with a full survey (completed April 2008).
Layout from stern: step down into the new kitchen with compact Candy washing machine, Spinflo oven and Belling hob. New bathroom to your left with well-pressured roomy shower, basin and macerator toilet (215L holding tank). Walk through the kitchen into the spacious living room with new Dutch diesel drip feed stove (extremely economical and heats the whole boat with ease). Through the living room is the bedroom with permanent double bed with storage beneath, plus extra storage in the bow. Minimum head height of 5'10" is in the bedroom.
The hot water is supplied by a 72L calorifier and immersion heater. Lighting is a mix of 12V and 240V. The barge is currently connected to an onshore electric hook-up but two new 270amp batteries were fitted in Oct 2007 and she comes with a brand new LPG 3kva generator and 1800W inverter, so is kitted out for cruising. She is fully insulated with a bone-dry bilge. The hull was reblacked in June 2007 and had a new bottom plate in 2005.
We currently liveaboard and estimate that Hoop is now about 95% complete. New owners would probably want to install proper lighting in the bathroom and bedroom, and probably a new floor in the bedroom as well, but other than that it's just a question of decorating her to your taste. Perfect for someone who wants to be able to live in comfort whilst 'tinkering' and making her their own.
There's also plenty of deck space - enough for a table and chairs - and there's even a parasol for hot summer days!
Hoop is currently moored in Ely, about 12 miles north of Cambridge, and the mooring owner has indicated that he is willing to chat to new owners about continuing the current arrangement.

This ship (14.95 x 3,20 x 0.75m) was built in 1925 for package deliveries. In 1946 it had been converted to a passenger boat for 30 people. Thereafter, in 1956, the boat was converted into a pleasure craft. We purchased the boat in 1993 and after a few years we decided to completely renew the inside. In addition we renewed the electricity wires and water and gas pipes. In the fore peak (bow) there are 2 single beds, a lot of storage capacity, a full automatic washing-machine (2003) and a freezer (2006). In the living/kitchen area we built a 6 pers. couch which can be converted into a double bed. Beneath the couch we have cupboards for storage. The kitchen is about 2.15m with a sink, hot and cold water and a built-in cooking range with 4 pits. In addition there are 7 cupboards for tableware, pots and pans, food, etc. On top of 2 counter cupboards there is a LCD TV and a microwave-oven with grill. Inside one of the cupboards there is also a DVD-player and satellite-receiver. In 2007, we renewed the bathroom with an electrical toilet, shower, sink and cupboard space. The geyser has just been serviced. The 6m2 wheelhouse with parquet floor is well equiped and has a hydraulic steering system. There is a 2 pers. couch with cupboards for storage and a seat which can be converted to a stair for access to the sundeck. Furthermore there is a built-in 120 ltr. fridge (2005). The owners cabin has a double bed with wardrobes and a bookshelf. For heating there is a diesel-heater in the living room and in both cabins a 500 watt mounted electrical heater. All walls and ceilings are isolated with Rockwool. The sundeck is about 6,5m2 with a removable sunscreen and hinges to enable to lower it. Beneath the end of the sundeck there is a safety-locker for 3 bottles of gas and another big storage for shipware. To the sealing of the lower deck a cupboard is installed for housing a bottle of gas. On top of it a gas-barbeque is fitted. At the back of the ship we have a scooter stand (scooter not included). On top of the wheelhouse we installed 3 big 123 watt solar panels which charge 8 batteries with a total capacity of 840 Ah. These batteries are connected to a Victron 1200 watt inverter which provides a 24/7 silent 230 volt circuit. Wall power is only needed for the use of the washing machine. In other words: you can moor wherever you want. In 2001 we installed a brand new 60 hp LISTER diesel engine and gearbox, a shaft with flexible coupling and propeller. The engine room is easy accessible and totally insulated. The upper part of the ship has been painted in 2007. The hull above the waterline has been painted in 2008. The last docking was in 2008. The ship is in a excellent condition and has been very well maintained.
