Classic Groninger Tjalk for sale due present owner retiring. Charlotte Anne is a tastefully converted, Dutch Canal Barge currently lying in Nancy, FRANCE. Interior consists of two large sleeping cabins, both with emperor sized double beds and ensuite facilities. The barge has been our own home for the past 2 years during which we have cruised the canals of North Eastern France. Technically, she is in excellent condition. Last out of water survey was in November 2007, with all documents verified. 150 HP DEUTZ main engine, 12 KVA diesel generator, battery chargers and 1000 Watt Inverter. New batteries May 2009. Kitchen with range of cupboards. Gas cooker, fridge and 1 ½ bowl stainless steel sink. Water pump and shower/sink pump out tank (automatic with float switch) in corner cupboard.
Bathroom with new vanity unit and washbasin, barge toilet and half bath with shower over. Large heated towel rail.
Wheelhouse with bench seat across after end. Extendable table with four chairs. A good second dining area. Small hatch for engine dipstick access. Six large trapdoors giving good access to all parts of the engine. Floor is oak treated with penetrating oil.
After bedroom with 200cm x 180cm, drawer under and surrounded by shelving. Under sidedeck storage. Small built in wardrobe. Freestanding cupboards with slide out drawers and baskets. Small en-suite toilet with washbasin and macerator toilet. Floor hatches for access to propeller shaft and stern gland.

1933 Leeds Liverpool Short Boat, built by Yarwoods of Northwich. Now retired Passenger Boat 2008, excellent for live aboard conversion or use as 12 seater resteraunt boat.
Existing working engine Gardner 2LW electric start replaced Widdup in 1941, in excellent condition fully serviced with Gardner 2UC reversing box and 2to1 reduction box. Propshaft (SS), stern bearing and propellor replaced new from Crowther Marine in 2005, New 12kva Northern Lights Generator installed 2004 (2800hrs). Layout Galley with LPG, 2 toilets (120 gallon holding tank), washroom, main saloon, bar. SB Cabby was the last Thames Barge built for Trade and is now on the Historic ships register. She has been surveyed every year by the Government's Marine and Coastguard Agency and has a passenger ticket to carry 40 people plus crew, but would also make an excellent liveaboard with a little modification to the passenger accomodation. All business contacts would be available to the purchaser. A residential mooring in sight of Tower Bridge could also be available seperately. Cabby came off the ways in 1928. She is a Dunkirk Little Ship, and has always been maintained in first class condition. She was given a new rudder, transom and some decking last year, and the mast sails and rigging are all in excellent condition...she enters the 7 annual Thames Barge matches regularly. She has a fully equipped galley, and two bathrooms. |
